i have a few friends that i feel like this with and it’s honestly so sad realizing that you care more than they do

It is really hard but we’re strong and will get through it ❤️

As we grow up, we have to let go something including the friendship you values. Adult friendships are not easy to maintain, as everyone has limited time and energy. Don’t blame her and don’t doubt yourself. Move on with your life. The book Let Them has one chapter specifically talking about adult friendships, maybe it’s helpful to read it. ❤️

Thank you for taking the time to read and for sharing your thoughts, it means a lot to me. It hasn’t been easy but I’ve been trying not to think about our friendship anymore writing it all out really helped. I’ll definitely check out the book!

This is so heartbreaking. I’ve experienced a form of this too, where you’re left feeling like you’re the only one trying to hold onto the connection. It really hurts, but it does get better with time. Wishing you all the best 🤍

It really is a painful thing to go through. I hope you’re doing okay now. One thing that’s been helping me is trying to focus on other things to keep myself busy

Thank you, I really appreciate that. It was a painful experience and took me a long time to heal from, but I’m doing great now. Keeping busy and focusing on other things definitely helped me along the way.

I completely understand this feeling. Friends who you once considered family drift away and with no proper reason either. It’s so sad. I wrote a bit about this in an article of mine. I’ll link it here if you felt like reading it. I completely get the friends to strangers thing.

P.S. Also loved the Grey’s reference.

Sometimes the grief is so deep it’s hard to put into words but you did such a good job describing it.

My latest article talks about the same and I would love to hear from you in the comments if you resonate 🤍🌊

A deep article. I could mind-dive a lot. There are many parts of me that have a total different perspective. I do wonder though.. Do you still watch her life on social media or other ways? Cause that seems like a waste of your energy. Your sister could be right. Perhaps she outgrew you. Or she was jealous or envious of you and didn't want to watch your life unfold.. Social media is not reality and what you see of her life might be choreographed.

I don’t actively check her social media for updates but we do follow each other so I saw her wedding post. But I agree maybe she did outgrow me and I’m learning to be okay with that. It’s hard watching a friendship fade away

It is.. But I can't feel there's a reason, and perhaps it's not you.
